On 24th April 2014, Kabir had his mundan ceremony in my home in Delhi. Same place where I had mine almost 3 decades back.:,)
Poor baby had no idea when he woke up that morning, what was in store. We frankly expected total turmoil, considering how he hates being touched by strangers.
Have to deal with mayhem each time we have to take him to the doctors for check -up. But he was quite a sport after the initial outburst. The worst bit was the beggining when the uncle(my brother) cuts the first few strands. And then the barber took over. By then I think he had kind of resigned to his fate and had the “just get on with it” attitude. The fact that he was kind of sleepy helped.
Held him in my arms all through the hair cutting. He holding on tight to me, his bow-bow and moo. Daddy and uncle trying to keep him distracted with old mc donald videos on the phone.
I hope now the evil spirits of the past leave him alone for life. He’s always protected from the evil eye and has a long healthy life!
And ofcourse now looking forward to the new crop on his gorgeous head!:)
