in pictures. a bump and stripes…

Time till here has flown by…quite literally. I’m in my week 29 and so close to my full term…!!! The moving tummy and jabs from this hyper active one now constantly reminding me of what’s to come 🙂 The lil one has been really considerate and not given me too hard a time at all up until now…maybe saving it all for when she’s out?! 😄 The best part by far has been Kabir and his reactions… He is just so thrilled to be a big brother that he can’t wait! “Is the baby coming tomorrow?!” “No Kabir you have to wait till it’s Christmas time:)” “Can Christmas come soon?!” He is the one talking to his lil baby sister to be all the time! And oh ya..he’s just decided it’s a baby sister coming…his logic being he already has a baby brother!! His now almost 1 year old nephew-Sammy bear! So for his sake I really hope it’s a lil baby girl baking in there! 😍 But then I know he’ll be the best big brother either which way! I mean he already sings to her…talks to her..showers her with kisses ALL the time! I’m sure she’s going to come out loving him the most! ☺️☺️☺️ His and our Christmas present of a lifetime!!!

In pictures. Onam dress up…

It’s always so much fun to dress up for festive occasions! And with friends from all parts of India, the opportunities are aplenty! This time round was for Onam lunch at  Mally friends home..

A lovely lavish spread eaten on banana leaves sitting on the floor. With the men first serving the women and than the reverse…

In pictures. Weekend blues…

Precious weekend moments. Early morning movie- Ice Age- Collision Course.Definitely not as great as the previous ones. But entertaining enough. Sid always being my favorite and stealing the show!

Movie was followed by shopping for the entire family- H&M, Steve Madden, (head over for some great discounts on currently!), Zara…we covered it all! 😀 And then exhausted, spent but happy headed for lunch at SALT… An Indian restaurant at VR Bengaluru. Great food, courteous staff and an option to sit both outside on the terrace and inside.

in pictures. sunday dress up…

Dressing up on a Sunday morning for a wedding…. made fun! And me gleeful at being able to get Kabir to stay in his blazer long enough! 😄 After explaining why we are dressing up special and the whole concept of a wedding. “Mamma, one day I’ll be 12 and then 14 and  then 15 and then….when I am big like you…” ” I will get married at my wedding!!!” And I get amused and worried at the same time. Why is that when you are that young, growing up and doing all the grown up things seems like the best thing ever!?! Slow down my handsome young man..slow down…

in pictures.sunday mornings in Cubbon park…

It’s been a ritual for a while now…Sunday mornings in Cubbon park. Since the little man was much younger. Sacrificing that little extra sleep on a Sunday to wake up   and get to the park is totally worth the effort! Climbing trees, bruising knees, jumping in puddles, picking up flowers and giving to Mamma, chasing the pigeons, throwing ball to the dogs, sitting on daddy’s shoulders when exhaustion sets in….lovely memories for life!

The last time was when Bella Aunty came visting…😊

a lil note. i will wait for you…

So Kabir recently saw the movie, The Book of Life and has absolutely fallen in love with it. He talks in the most adorable way about the love that Manolo feels for Maria. 🙂 ” Manolo really loves Maria, no Mamma?”

What he took to most were the songs. Humming them to himself at first and then asking me to play it. One song in particular seemed to have caught his fancy….“I will wait for you..” by the band Mumford and Sons. So much so that he wants to hear it all the time. On repeat and he just doesn’t get tired of it.

Last night took the cake though….when he asked me to sing it to him as his new lullaby to sleep! 😀 I started humming…”No Mamma..no..sing!” At that time its pretty much anything to get him to sleep…so I pull out the lyrics on my phone and start singing…

“I Will Wait”

Well, I came home

Like a stone
And I fell heavy into your arms
These days of dust
Which we’ve known
Will blow away with this new sun

But I’ll kneel down,
Wait for now
And I’ll kneel down,
Know my ground

And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you

So break my step
And relent
Well, you forgave and I won’t forget
Know what we’ve seen
And him with less
Now in some way shake the excess

‘Cause I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you

Now I’ll be bold
As well as strong
And use my head alongside my heart
So tame my flesh
And fix my eyes
A tethered mind freed from the lies

And I’ll kneel down,
Wait for now
I’ll kneel down,
Know my ground

Raise my hands
Paint my spirit gold
And bow my head
Keep my heart slow

‘Cause I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you

I manage to pull through the entire song….but then he goes….”Mamma..again!” “The song is over Kabir…” “No Mamma…sing!” One of those moments when I want to laugh so hard, I cry! But its lights off time and no acts which may get him all active again are allowed! So I just sing the chorus a couple of times more before he finally drifts off…
And I will wait for  you…
